Integrative psychotherapy
What it is
Integrative psychotherapy draws on more than one tradition rather than following a single school. A therapist working integratively has usually trained in depth in one approach and added others, and chooses between them according to the person in front of them rather than applying one method to everyone.
In practice this can mean talking about the past in one session and working on something practical the next. It suits people who are not sure what they are looking for, and it relies heavily on the relationship between therapist and client being a good fit.
