Psychodynamic psychotherapy is interested in how earlier experience, much of it outside everyday awareness, shapes present relationships and choices. It pays particular attention to patterns that repeat.
Sessions are less structured than in CBT: you talk about what is on your mind and the therapist listens for themes. The relationship between you and the therapist is itself treated as material, because the patterns that cause difficulty elsewhere often appear in the room.
One practitioner records psychoanalytic psychotherapy as their primary approach. The list covers both our practices — the practice is named under each name, and Pimlico profiles open on the Pimlico site. Pimlico’s records have not been scanned yet, so the Pimlico row is an example of the treatment rather than a real listing.
