Humanistic psychotherapy starts from the view that people have their own capacity to grow, and that the therapist's task is to provide the conditions in which that becomes possible rather than to diagnose or instruct. Acceptance, honesty and a genuine interest in your experience are the working tools.
In practice it means being met as a whole person rather than a set of symptoms, and being trusted to find your own direction, with the therapist alongside you rather than ahead of you.
One practitioner records psychoanalytic psychotherapy as their primary approach. The list covers both our practices — the practice is named under each name, and Pimlico profiles open on the Pimlico site. Pimlico’s records have not been scanned yet, so the Pimlico row is an example of the treatment rather than a real listing.
