About Me
I am a psychologist, psychotherapist, intimacy coach and Imago relationship therapist and have been a therapist for almost 15 years. I work at Kensington Counselling Rooms on Wednesdays with individuals and couples in my favourite therapy room that I feel blessed to inhabit. My room in Kensington is perfect for both Imago Relationship Therapy (IRT) and for somatic (in the body) work as there are plenty of cushions on the floor for sitting and laying down. If you want to work more in the body as an individual or a couple and/or are interested in IRT or intimacy coaching, then please get in touch as I am sure that you will love this space too.
I also offer online therapy via Zoom and by email. These approaches might suit you if you find in-person therapy overwhelming, don't live in London, have a busy schedule or small children, and/or have a neurodiverse condition and/or prefer to write down your problems in the case of the latter (also a cheaper option for those on a budget). Additionally, I offer intensive therapy weekends for individuals and couples from Friday to Sunday or Saturday to Monday. I am happy to offer complimentary introductory calls on Zoom of up to 20 minutes for individuals and 30 minutes for couples; most people prefer to have an initial chat before making a commitment. Both online and in-person sessions are 60 minutes for individuals and 90 minutes for couples.
I am a trauma-informed practitioner and I worked in many frontline services in my early career including services for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, domestic abuse and sexual assault, drug and alcohol addiction, homelessness and with male offenders in prisons. Today, I work only in private practice but I do tend to work largely with people who have histories of trauma. - both individuals and couples where one or both partners have experienced trauma. I am a trauma survivor myself and understand the processes of post-traumatic growth through positive psychology and somatic work. I was privileged to work with trauma experts of the Human Flourishing Centre in Nottingham where I taught Humanistic Counselling Practice at the University of Nottingham. I am a strong believer in the ability of people to thrive no matter what their background or experiences.
I am a nature lover and am blessed to live in the beautiful countryside of East Sussex, close to the South Downs where I offer walk and talk therapy. I am a keen advocate of getting into nature as a therapeutic activity no matter where you live - there are always green spaces that are worth seeking out.
